Welcome Area Refurbishment – Wentworth Leisure Centre

Wentworth Leisure Centre hired Createability contractors to oversee the welcome area refurbishment of their establishment in Wentworth, Surrey. The Wentworth Leisure Centre is the home of a 25 metre pool, a state-of-the-art fitness gym, a range of fitness classes, an outdoors athletics field, and a well visited bowling centre. All in all, there are a lot of visitors coming through the doors of the leisure centre, so it is important to have a reception area that accommodates this high turnover, and leaves a lasting good impression. The requirements of the client for the welcome area refurbishment included a reception customer desk and catering bar, along with a fitted shoe storage space for the busy bowling alley in the centre. Createability approached Ken Rand Partners to help with the design of the new reception area. Our design team created a large bespoke customer desk with high spec finishes that fitted along the length of the welcome area. On the right side of the desk is a bar area where customers can order drinks and light refreshments. On the left side of the desk is the service desk for the bowling centre where visitors can pay and receive a pair of bowling shoes. In the middle of the large customer service desk is a low part that is easily accessible for wheelchair users. Behind the right hand service desk of the bowling alley, we installed a large built-in pigeon hole unit in the wall that functions as a shoe storage space. The welcome area refurbishment project has improved the customer’s experience of their time at the Wentworth Leisure centre. The large reception desk offers enough space for multiple people to work efficiently at the same time, and it gives the environment the welcoming atmosphere a reception area needs.
