Optician shop’s interior design – Harts Eye Care

Harts Eye Care desired to refurbish their establishment in order to reflect the vision of the new management team. They approached Ken Rand Partners for the shop’s interior design. Following detailed discussions with the new management team to explore their vision for the future direction of the business we set about producing a design proposal for the shop interior. The main challenge was to improve the layout of the shop’s interior design by repositioning the main reception desk. We wanted the layout to show the full extent of the space from the shop front so that passersby would get maximum impact and be drawn in. We did this by positioning an impressive bespoke reception desk at the rear of the shop with product display along the length of the shop leading towards the new reception. We used a rich American Walnut finish on the counter tops and joinery along with cream surfaces and deep aubergine accent colour complimenting the wood grain finishes portraying a high end sophisticated image. The existing frame display units were of a high quality but looking a little tired and not reflective of the image they wanted to portray. This and a limited budget meant that we took an approach that involved revamping the units to create a fresh modern solution. The units were repainted and new worktops and display poles were replaced. To create maximum wow factor when looking into the shop from the street and a focal point on entrance to the shop we designed a bespoke feature wall. The wall had several backlit ‘cubbies’ which could be used to merchandise products that deserve the extra attention. The finished shop’s interior design supports the high end designer products Harts Eye Care sells and now reflects the vision of the new management team.
