Reception area design – Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing centre

Our regular contractor Createability approached Ken Rand Partners for a reception area design for the Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing centre in London. The client´s wishes were for us to design and install a modern compact reception desk and a storage system that would provide enough storage space behind the counter for the towels given to the visitors. After carefully considering the shape and measurements of the reception area, our design team chose to install separate components of the Fusion reception desk range so that a desk could be created that fits the exact requirements of the client. The desk includes 1 curved high counter topped with a toughened plate glass shelf on polished chrome pillars, and 1 straight lower counter that allows for easy access for wheelchair users. Both desk units front panels and worktops are constructed with high pressure laminates in a white finish, and for the front of the curved unit we produced a graphic with the company’s logo. Behind the desk there is enough space for two computers on the worktop, and two chairs, allowing multiple receptionists to work at the same time. With the desk we also supplied an under desk pedestal for the storage of papers and other stationary articles. For the requirement of enough storage space for the towels, we designed a bespoke pigeon hole unit that was fitted to the lower part of the reception desk. It is constructed with 20mm laminated MDF panels and consists of 16 compartments.
The final reception area design has given the Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing centre a modern, fresh look that gives the visitors the right impression of how the centre wants to be seen: a modern and well established health centre that will provide them with the care they need.
